About this calculator

BMI is weight(kg) / height(m)². This calculator accepts metric or imperial units, converts internally, then labels WHO-style adult bands (underweight, normal, overweight, obesity classes).

BMI ignores muscle, frame, and ethnicity nuances. Athletes and older adults are regularly mis-sorted. Nepal clinical use should follow a clinician, not a colour bar. Pair with calorie/BMR tools only as context, never as a crash-diet prescription.

WHO adult BMI = weight(kg) / height(m)². Metric: height in cm is divided by 100. Imperial: lb × 0.45359237 and inches × 2.54 → cm, then the same equation. Result kg/m² to 1 decimal.
WHO adult groups used here: <18.5 underweight, 18.5–24.9 normal, 25–29.9 overweight, ≥30 obese. Asian-specific clinic cut-offs (e.g. 23) are not applied unless you interpret them yourself.
No. It does not measure fat, muscle or visceral fat. Athletes and some clinical conditions need a clinician, not this label.
