About this calculator
CGPA weights each term by that term’s credits. Entering “GPA 3.6 and 3.8” without credits implicitly pretends every semester was the same load — often false in Nepal engineering programmes with project terms.
Repeat papers and credit transfers follow campus rules this form cannot know.
Frequently Asked Questions
CGPA = Σ(semester GPA × semester credits) / Σ(credits). Percentage equivalent = (CGPA / scale) × 100. Default scale 10 (common in South Asia); set 4.0 if your campus is 4-point.
GPA is one term; CGPA is credit-weighted across terms you enter.
It is a linear scaling used for illustration. Many boards publish their own conversion table — follow the university circular for jobs and WES.
Heavier terms count more. That is the point of credit weighting.
If you include it with credits, it pulls CGPA down. If credits were not earned, omit per registrar rules.
Do not mix. Convert all semester GPAs onto one scale first.
