About this calculator

Fixed deposits advertise a rate and a tenure. This calculator estimates maturity value from those three inputs using the compounding convention in the handler so you can compare two banks on the same principal.

Premature-break penalties, TDS on interest (Nepal), and auto-renewal are usually outside the form. Call the bank with the maturity number in hand, not the other way around.

Frequently Asked Questions

Maturity = P × (1 + (r/100)/n)^(n × years). n = 1 yearly, 2 half-yearly, 4 quarterly (default), 12 monthly. Interest earned = maturity − P. Same compound-interest family as bank FD textbooks.
Many FDs compound quarterly — hence the default. Use the tenure letter, not a rumour.
Not modelled. Penalty rates are bank-specific.
Not subtracted. Use the Nepal TDS interest preset if you need withholding arithmetic.
This is cumulative (interest reinvested). Payout FDs are closer to simple interest on principal — not this FV.
Add it into the rate field yourself. No age checkbox.
Schema. Very short deposits may actually be savings-account rules — confirm the product.
FD: one deposit, rate mostly contractual. SIP: market-linked monthly. Different risk.
This run is one tenure. Ladder by running several tenures.
It is a form placeholder. Paste your bank’s card rate.
