About this calculator

Government forms want completed age on a cutoff date. This calculator returns years, months and days so school admission, sports categories, and KYC ages are not guessed from birthday year alone.

Nepal school circulars use “completed age as on” dates. Convert BS dates with the AD↔BS tool first if the birth certificate is in Bikram Sambat. Leap days are handled by civil calendar rules, not by “always 365×.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Completed years, months and days between birth date and the “as of” date (today if omitted), using civil calendar date arithmetic (Carbon), plus total days and next-birthday countdown — not “age in years = (today−DOB)/365.25” only.
Dates at start of day. Someone born 23:00 is still that calendar date.
Civil-date logic applies; 29 Feb conventions follow the library’s date difference, not a custom religious calendar.
This is Gregorian AD. Convert BS→AD first on the date converter, then age.
Offices may use their own “age at last birthday” or fiscal rules. This is completed Y/M/D as of the date you pick.
Allowed if you enter it; birth after as-of should error.
Not the goal. Use years/months/days and total days.
Insurers often age last birthday or nearest. Confirm the policy wording; do not assume this Y/M/D equals their age.
Bikram Sambat age customs can differ. For forms that want AD completed age, use this after conversion.
Arithmetic only.
