About this calculator
Hill and Kathmandu-valley deeds still speak Ropani–Aana–Paisa–Daam. This calculator converts a mix of those units into total ropani, square feet, square metres and hectares. The encoded identity is 1 Ropani = 16 Aana = 64 Paisa = 256 Daam = 5,476 sq.ft (hill system).
Terai bigha–kattha–dhur is a different language — use the dhur converter for that, not this form. Never add “3 aana” from a lalpurja to a metric municipal GIS poly without converting. Inheritance talks go wrong when one sibling recites aana and another recites square metres.
Aana on the form is capped at the conventional 0–15 remainder after ropani. Survey sketches, road setbacks, and kitta irregularity mean a rectangle formula is not a title. Licensed surveyors and malpot offices certify area; this page supports understanding.
