How it's calculated

About this calculator
Nepal VAT is usually quoted at 13% on taxable supplies. This calculator lets you either add VAT onto a net NPR figure (what the buyer pays) or peel VAT out of a tax-inclusive sticker price so you can see the tax component on an invoice.
Contractors, medical shops, and importers still mix “VAT included” oral quotes with exclusive BOQs. Convert once, in writing, before you compare two suppliers. VAT-exempt items (some agrifoods, education, specified financial services) should not be forced through this 13% path — check the current IRD exemption list.
This is a rate calculator, not a VAT return. Input tax credit, delayed reverse charge, and IRD e-billing rules sit outside the form.
